Be Their Voice
Change starts with one person…
and grows with a community.
Landon’s Legacy for Veterans began with one voice — a young boy who chose to stand up for our veterans and stand strong through challenges like bullying. Today, that voice is becoming a movement.
But his story started long before the stage.
At just 4 years old, Landon found comfort in singing during one of the hardest times in his life. While his mom was struggling with addiction, music became his safe place — a way to express emotions he didn’t yet have words for.
Today, his story is also one of strength and healing. His mom is now 9 years sober as of March 29th, a powerful reminder that no matter how difficult life gets, change is possible and hope is real.
After singing at hundreds of veteran events and community gatherings, Landon has seen firsthand the impact that one act of appreciation can have. A handshake, a song, a simple “thank you” — these moments matter more than most people realize.
But his journey hasn’t been easy.
Landon faced intense bullying at school for standing up for what he believes in—supporting our veterans, singing patriotic songs, and openly supporting our country and its leadership. He was called names and treated differently for using his voice in a positive way.
Before leaving school, Landon was a straight-A student, loved by his teachers and staff for his respect, kindness, and work ethic. But despite that support, the bullying from peers continued.
As a family, we made the difficult decision to transition Landon to homeschooling so he could focus on his education, his mission, and his well-being in a safe and positive environment.
Instead of letting those experiences break him, Landon turned them into purpose.
Our Journey
Every mission has a beginning.
Landon’s journey started during one of the hardest seasons of our family’s life. While his mother was overcoming addiction, she would sing to him whenever she could. Those songs became a source of comfort, hope, and peace. Today, she is nearly 10 years sober, and those moments became the foundation of Landon’s love for music.
When Landon was six years old, his stepdad, Garret, showed him the sacrifices America’s service members have made through real stories and footage of war. Landon looked up and asked,
“They did that for us…and they didn’t even know us?”
That single question changed his life.
Soon afterward, Landon sang the National Anthem at a Veterans Day event with North Vernon Vet2Vet. A veteran named Willie Steele encouraged our family to create a nonprofit so Landon’s passion could grow into something that would impact veterans for years to come.
Since then, Landon has dedicated his voice to honoring those who served, encouraging kindness, standing against bullying, and reminding people that even one act of compassion can change a life.
